He left automotive journalism in 2013, completed an IATA Travel and Tourism certification, and redirected his expertise toward the practical logistics of travel: car rentals, road trip planning, transport documentation, insurance — all the things that make the difference between a trip that goes smoothly and one that doesn't.
David has driven across the continental United States three times via different routes. He has road-tripped New Zealand's South Island, done a self-drive safari in Botswana, and driven the entire length of Norway's Atlantic Ocean Road. His car rental knowledge is unmatched in the travel writing space — he has rented vehicles from over 60 different companies in 30 countries and documented every experience meticulously.
